The IAAF awards take place at the Federation’s annual conference on 8th December and recognise the outstanding contributions to the UK automotive aftermarket over the last year.
Messe Frankfurt UK was shortlisted for the award for the pioneering UK Garage and Bodyshop Event it launched this year, which represented the return of face-to-face trade exhibitions following the Covid pandemic, held at the NEC in Birmingham back in June.
Simon Albert, managing director at Messe Frankfurt UK, said: “It's fantastic to be recognised by the automotive aftermarket for our work in the industry and we’re delighted with the success the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event had in bringing the sector together.”
The inaugural UK Garage and Bodyshop Event received widespread praise from the automotive aftermarket community after it welcomed over 3,500 business owners over the show’s two days.
Featuring unfettered access for garage and bodyshop visitors to over 100 leading suppliers, the event showcased the latest in service and repair products, diagnostics, and garage equipment, offering owners and technicians the skills and know-how to futureproof their business.
The UK Garage and Bodyshop Event offered over 100 hours of seminars across its workshop, bodyshop, EV and Hybrid training areas, covering ADAS, sustainability and collision repair, reflecting demand for aftermarket businesses to upskill in a post-combustion era.
The success of the first UK Garage and Bodyshop Event means an even stronger presence for bodyshops and garages at Automechanika Birmingham is planned, which will take place from 6th-8th June 2023.
The winners in each category of the IAAF’s Pride of the Aftermarket awards will be announced at the Federation’s Awards Dinner on 8 December at the event being held at DoubleTree by Hilton in Milton Keynes.
